Rolling Stone magazine - no less - publshed a list of the ten ten rock vocalists of all time. It was rubbish and -in the main - bugger all to do with rock music. Andf there was only one Brit in it - John Lennon. A great (genius?) songwriter but, I think most would agre, not the top man when it comes to the oldvocalising.
Alex Harvery the great Scottish growler' said Geoff (Dec 4th is Geoff day don't forget). 'Bruce 'The ir Raid Siren ' Dickinson' said Big Al. Brenda from Bury said 'Robert Plant and Paul Rodgers are both great but what about Roger Chapman?' Hell yeah - we love a bit of 'Burlesque'.
'Peter Frampon ' said Shaun in Salford ' e lots of people think he's a septic - he's not.' Damn right.
Jimmy Barnes' said Rob in Wilmslow' and you can tell that Aussie newsreader you've ggot that Jimmy is a Jock who emmigrated to Oz.'
'Sir Noddy Holder of Wolvo' said Shelaghfrom Helmshore.
But way out in the lead were two fine singers Mr Bruce Dickinson of the mighty Maiden and Sire Frederick Mercury of our gracious Queen. There was some suggestion that Freddie wasn't technically British but as Ian from Irlam pointed out Freddie was as British as a dissapointingly dreary Bank Holiday Monday.
ASnd it was Freddie. There was a huge surge (Ooeer!) in his favour. Thanks a ton to everyone who contributed because without you lot I'd be just me. And its so much better with you.
I love you all. No really (repeat to fade)
